Here are answers to some commonly asked questions about Laffs4Kids.
If you can’t find the information you’re looking for on this page please contact us!
When is it?
The next Laffs4Kids will take place on Sunday 13th December 2020 from 1:00pm (matinée performance), then again from 6:00pm (evening performance) at Newcastle City Hall, Northumberland Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE1 8SF.
We expect the show to last for around 3 hours but this is only a rough guide – it might be a little longer!
How much does it cost?
Tickets are £5 (before Ticketmaster booking fees) plus everyone needs to bring a Christmas gift which will be given to a disadvantaged child living in the North East.
Is there an age restriction?
All attendees should be aged 18+. It might be in aid of a children’s charity but this is not a kids event!
Where can I buy tickets?
Online from Ticketmaster.
Why do I need to bring a Christmas gift?
It’s the reason Laffs4Kids exists! We keep the ticket price for this amazing night of comedy and entertainment as low as possible, and in return everyone brings a gift which will go to Metro Radio’s charity Cash for Kids. The gifts will be distributed as part of their Mission Christmas appeal to North East children who could otherwise receive nothing this Christmas.

What kind of gift can I bring?
New and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0 to 18.
Anything, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. Cash for Kids often struggles for items to give to small babies and older teenagers, so we’re not just looking for toys – toiletries, books, DVDs, CDs, clothes and other accessories make great gifts too!
Can I really not wrap it up?
For security reasons, door staff at City Hall are unable to grant entry to people with wrapped gifts. Anyone bringing wrapped gifts will be asked to unwrap them at the door before being allowed to enter the venue.
The charity also needs gifts to be unwrapped so they can make sure each one goes to a suitable child, as well as for health and safety reasons. Some parents also like to wrap their children’s presents themselves and Cash for Kids can provide wrapping paper for this.
Can I donate a second-hand or home-made gift?
Cash for Kids are unfortunately unable to distribute second-hand or home-made gifts for health and safety reasons.
Do you accept donations of food?
The charity will find a use for food donations, e.g. through food banks, however this isn’t the focus of our appeal so toys and other gifts are preferred! Unfortunately we cannot accept home-made food due to allergy concerns.
Who are Cash for Kids?
Cash for Kids are the official charity of Metro Radio. They provide a helping hand for children and young people across the North East, with a focus on alleviating poverty, supporting disability and improving quality of life. The annual Mission Christmas appeal is their biggest campaign of the year, but they fundraise year-round and provide grants to support community groups, other children’s charities and individual children.
